The Future Is Bright . . .

I came across the following quote by Ralph Marston, which I found to be personally meaningful, so I thought I would share it with my friends.

I offer no personal opinion or analysis. Take from it what you find meaningful. It’s here only because I like the spirit of the message.

Enjoy!

Hawk, Out!

The future is bright. Because the future is created by positive people.

Those who are negative make a lot of noise about how bad things are. Those who are positive quietly and steadily make a lot of real improvements and contributions to life.

There are always problems and there are always challenges. And there are always people willing to transform those challenges into great opportunities.

Those who have the courage, commitment and discipline to follow their own best dreams, bring the rest of the world along with them. Those who choose to do the best they can with what they have, create a better life for everyone.

For every high-profile guru of doom who wails about how hopeless and unfair life is, there are millions of others working tirelessly to make life better than ever. For every frightening crisis that is breathlessly reported, there are millions of real, meaningful success stories that don’t get noticed, but that do have enormous positive influence.

Negative people obsess over the past while positive people work their way eagerly toward the future. Life gets better and better when you choose to make it so, and the future is bright indeed.

– Ralph Marston

See you on the next flight!

  1. the change is now … things are moving forward … day by day new thoughts are being created, the templates for a future world

I used to despair, now I dream

    the world is bright indeed

  2. Hey Hawk, always good to see your talon marks on the wall!

  3. Thanks for the quote. It’s a powerful and positive quote and since I haven’t read it before I appreciate you sharing it with us.

  4. It reminds me of the “Shawshank Redemption” line…”Get busy living or get busy dying”…I joyfully count myself among the living and endeavor to be a bright spot. Thanks for sharing. :)

  5. wanderer, welcome as a first time commenter to my haunt. You are right on the money.

Deb, thanks! My regrets for being somewhat silent but I needed to curtail my level of involvement in blog land to maintain some degree of sanity. Always good to see you.

    ~
Susie, you’re welcome. It is a great quote from Martston. Glad you enjoyed his words.

    ~
Miss Harley, your outlook is something all could do better with embracing on a daily basis. Thanks for sharing your perspective.

  6. How true is that: THe future is what we make of it, isn’t it? One thought at a time.

    Hope you are well, Hawk!

  7. Just came by to say hi…hope you are well and all is great that side!A quote like this is what I do need right now,I am busy with some life changing descisions, and desperatly need some motivation! Thanks,Hawk..it certainly gives some direction :)
    Keep soaring…

  8. How nice to see your words. Thank you for sharing this! I especially like the last paragraph. I so try to be positive. Sometimes the world can be pretty brutal…and I struggle with understanding that. I try to shake the dust off though and move on. Living in the moment “best I can.”

I hope you are feeling much better!

  9. I think everyone is going slow with posts right now. The restlessness of the season change and the long dark winter has worn on us all. I have pieces I’m working on but they are taking their sweet time.

  10. ever seen my sidebar Hawk…it’s message is similar to the one you’ve posted here. I love this one too!

as a side note, there’s this thing going around blogger where you invite people to ask you questions about stuff ~ you, your philosophies etc. and it’s become like a Q&A meme. It certainly has me intrigued…thought I’d mention it, in case you’re interested in sharing a bit more of yerself!

    peace,
    Lil

  11. ((((Grace)))), how nice to see you. I thought you were gone for a while but I’m glad you are still around. As you said, the future is exactly what we make of it. I’ll come by later and see what’s cookin’ over at your manor house.

    ~
((((Jesse)))), my sweet friend from across the world. I’m sorry you are having a difficult time. I have had similar feelings for far too long - but not anymore. I hope you find the inspiration and the motivation to do whatever you determine in your heart to be the right thing for you to do with whatever you are have to deal with in your life. You can always Email me, you know! I offer you the following quote from the book
Success Through A Positive Mental Attitude -
Every adversity has the seed of an equivalent or greater benefit.

    ~
((((Gypsy)))), pleased to hear you enjoyed the words of Marston. I’m feeling better than I have in a very, very, very, long time. Thanks for the shout.

    ~
((((Goldenferri)))), everyone is scaling back. I just get to it when I feel like it. In the great words of Caesar Blogga-Nero, “I will not post until it’s time.” I have you know, I don’t fiddle while the city is burnining. Nice to see you.

    ~
((((Lil)))), I’ll be by to check it out later. I like your idea of a Q & A. I think that will be my next post since I don’t have anything in mind at the moment. Maybe it would be interesting to divulge some additional information. Then again, maybe my fans would tar and feather me or perhaps, burn a cross on my front lawn, LOL! We’ll see. Good of you to stop by.

  12. Hawk, genki desu ka?

I was thinking of you as I, too, am scaling back. Not as excited about blogging as I once was. I guess it is cyclical. Anyway, I hope you are well.

  13. Hey Hawk, I almost thought I will see you still chilling, but you surprised me with this quote. Very nice, will take it and analyze on my own time. But what I wanted to add this. At times I had to listen to friends about their life going down hill, etc and etc. So me with my great help, lol, all I could do is always say, you know there is always a light on the end of the tunnel. So one day I was conversing with my husband, and I told him what I used to tell others, and then to my surprise he added ‘unless there is a train coming’, oh well, it is nice to see you flying again. Anna :)

  14. watch out all you assholes, there is a glorious tidal wave of happy people coming your way, tee hee….

  15. Fighting Windmills, I’m very well thank you! It’s nice to see you stop by. As far as blogging is concerned, it’s not the motivation but finding the a subject that I’m interested in writing about. Though I continue to visit other’s sites regularly through my readers, even my comments have waned. Whatever the reasons, I will keep my haunt, posting when I feel inspired. Hope all is well with you the family. Thanks again for the shout.

Anna, howdy! You are funny but having a good sense of humor is an important trait to have. Your input is always welcome and appreciated. I’m real familiar with trains and roller coasters. Like riding a roller coaster, you can’t steer either one. You just have to ride it and deal with whatever ups and downs, and twists and turns that are on the tracks. Thanks for the input!

    ~
Gail, Wassup from the Pacific Northwest? Indeed, there is a tidal wave coming. Thanks.

  16. bah, tar & feather’s is so passe ~ deleting you from a blogroll is where it’s at these days! :-) Lil

  17. Lil, Bah? You can’t please everyone and I don’t even attempt it. Everyone controls their own blog rolls and do with it as they please. Thanks for the kind words and the smiley face. Until the next return flight…

  18. ((( Hawk ))) I tagged you for S.E.’s meme! :) Not sure you saw that (I forgot to add my Taggees, and did so after you commented, I think…BRAIN CRAMP!)

  19. hawk, i’ve decided to screw anonyminity ~ it’s so freaking not worth the hassle and energy!

    http://www.changingwoman.wordpress.com (thanks for asking btw)

    *dancing*
    Lil

  20. ((((Grace)))), nice to see you back on the sandlot. My apology for the untimely reply but I have been swamped with life and business. Thanks for the tag my dear friend. It may just be the thing to get my spirit back to blogging more consistently. I’ll have to fly in for the rules. Thanks.

    ~
Lil, that’s what I like. Throw caution to the wind and damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead. I’ll get you added to my Hawking Places here shortly. Later…

  21. Hawk laughter is the best medicine, so if you are suffering from any pains and aches, hope I am contributing to ease some of them, lol. Well how is my friend doing today? I am visiting to say hello and Happy Easter if you celebrate, and if not than Happy Spring!.

You said: ‘Like riding a roller coaster, you can’t steer either one. You just have to ride it and deal with whatever ups and downs, and twists and turns that are on the tracks’ - you are absolutely right, and I will remember this. Thanks.

    Anna :)

  22. Hey just flew in again to check if everything is okay. Anna :)

  23. (((((Anna))))), thank you for the kind words and please accept my sincerest regrets for not being very timely with replying to your gracious comments. My time has been monopolized with a new business undertaking. Hence, everything in my life (except for my children) has been subordinated to this venture.

I appreciate you flying by to check on my status. Unfortunately, by the time I have any free moments to sit down and blog, the lateness of the hour beckons my spirit to sleep. Perhaps this will lighten up sometime within the next few weeks.

I hope you and your family had a great Easter Holiday and it was filled with fun and merriment.

You should know, I will continue to blog. However, it will be rather sporadic during the immediate future.

    ((((((HUGS))))) to all my buds.

    Hawk, Out!

  24. Hey Hawk, no problem, and sound like great venture is unfolding front of you. Just remember to relax and step back once in a while, meaning put some breaks on and re-evaluate the situation - been there and done that, lol, its fun, lot of work, but you know on the end you will be rewarded for all you hard work. As long your children are before blogging I don’t mind, lol. Good luck and thanks for all the wishes. Don’t you worry, I will be flying in as long as this blog stands. Anna :)

  25. Anna, I appreciate your understanding. My new venture is unfolding rather nicely. My only regret is I should have had the presence of mind to have done this a few years earlier, but better late than never as they say. Wonder who said that anyway? Aside from that, between my new venture and my great kids I have little time for anything or anyone else at least for the next year. Glad you’ll be hanging around because I ain’t going anywhere. I’ll be soaring periodically so I’ll see you on flight some time soon.

Hugs, kisses, and all that good warm and fuzzy stuff stuff to you.

    Hawk, Out!

  26. Just jumping in to wave hello and wish you peace once again and always.

Best of wishes towards you, your new business and your serenity.

    Always love.

  27. hi hawk, 24/7 can be hard huh? best wishes in your new venture and on your flights, love gail

  28. (((((Ruby Shooz))))), howdy! Hope all is going well with you and the family. I’m slightly more than remiss in responding. I extend my regrets, but it has been about a month since I have bothered to visit my own site, LOL! Yup, I’ve been slammed. Thanks for the visit. I’ll be back posting here shortly.

(((((Gail))))), 24/7 is about what it feels like. By the time I finish from my day, all I want is to sleep. Now that I think about it, a nice soft sexy and amorous lady would be nice to cuddle up to, but I’m afraid quality ladies are hard to come by in my neck of the woods. Thanks for the visit.

XOXOX’s to you both and all my friends in blogville!

    Hawk, Out!
